Professional Background
Born and raised in New Zealand, Aaron Sherriff moved toVancouver with his wife in 2005.
Mr. Sherriff studied law at Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand. He joined a national New Zealand law firm in 2000, where he practiced for five years in the firm’s litigation team. While in New Zealand, Mr. Sherriff acted on a wide range of general commercial litigation matters, as well as on professional liability and errors and omissions claims. In particular, he acted for major trading banks, professional liability insurers, key corporations involved in the New Zealand dairy industry, and various government entities. He acted on matters at all levels of the New Zealand court system, including the recently established Supreme Court of New Zealand.
Mr. Sherriff joined Singleton Urquhart in April 2006, following his move across the Pacific, and was called to the Bar in September 2006. At Singleton Urquhart, Mr. Sherriff continues his focus on general commercial litigation and professional liability litigation.
Following the birth of his daughter in August 2008, Mr. Sherriff moved back to New Zealand with his family. Mr. Sherriff continues to work full-time with Singleton Urquhart remotely. He remains very active with the firm, and can be reached via his email address.
