History

John Singleton, Q.C. first established Singleton & Company in 1982. He was joined by Glenn Urquhart, Q.C. in 1986 to form Singleton Urquhart. Together they established a law firm that delivers high-level expertise to their clients, while at the same time providing a supportive and collegial working environment for lawyers and staff. At that time, the firm also operated a branch office in Calgary, Alberta.

Over the years, the firm evolved under several different names: Singleton Urquhart MacDonald from 1989 to 1995; Singleton Urquhart Scott from 1996 to 1999; and Singleton Urquhart from 1999 to 2005. In 2005 the firm added the designation LLP (limited partnership) and is now known as Singleton Urquhart LLP.

Now numbering over 90 – our lawyers, students and support staff come from diverse cultural, personal, professional, and educational backgrounds, and their wide- range of skills and experience exemplifies the best the legal community has to offer.
