Professional Background
Melissa Nagelbach is a member of Singleton Urquhart's Business Law Practice Group and focuses her practice in the areas of corporate and commercial transactions, real estate, wills and estate planning and estate administration. She assists and advises clients on a variety of corporate transactions including incorporations, corporate reorganizations, corporate financing, share and asset purchase and sale transactions as well as the drafting of various corporate commercial documents including shareholder agreements, partnership agreements, commercial leases and licence agreements.
Melissa also assists clients with business succession planning and wills and estates planning, including the drafting of wills, trusts and powers of attorney and advises clients on matters related to the administration of an estate, including applications for Letters Probate and Letters of Administration.
Prior to joining Singleton Urquhart as a summer student in 2006 and returning in 2007 as an articling student, Melissa studied law at the University of Victoria where she received her LL.B. in 2007. While at law school, she volunteered for the Pro Bono Students Society and was rewarded for her academic achievements by receiving the Professor Jim Ellis Memorial Prize in International Business & Trade Law and the Scotia Trust – Donovan & Maryla Waters Award in Trusts and Estate Planning.
