We are excited to announce the arrival of two new team members.

Tim Sportschuetz joins our Construction and Infrastructure Group. With a focus on construction law and builders’ liens, he acts for owners, developers, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and material suppliers during various stages of project development and execution.

Prior to his legal career, Tim was the Chief Operating Officer of a contractor specializing in earthworks and civil infrastructure. Tim also consulted for a leading British Columbia rock and slope stabilization and directional drilling contractor. His on-site experience provides him with a deep understanding of the operational and financial aspects of the construction industry.

With both a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Real Estate from Florida State University, and a law degree from the University of British Columbia, Tim brings well-rounded legal and business skills to his role.

Cheryl Labiris brings her broad construction litigation practice to our Construction and Infrastructure Group. Her experience includes advising on both insurance and coverage issues, as well as breach of trust, delay and construction lien claims.

She has acted for architects, engineers, designers, and consultants in a wide range of disputes, and also has experience with large, complex public infrastructure claims.

Cheryl obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from York University before completing her law degree at Osgoode Hall Law School.
