We are delighted to announce the arrival of Peter Gorgopa and Mike Nienhuis to our Vancouver office.
Peter Gorgopa joins as Counsel practicing in the Corporate Commercial and Wills and Estates Practice Groups. He has earned a reputation for providing quality legal work and personal service with an understanding of and focus on his clients’ needs.
Peter provides strategic advice on a broad range of corporate commercial matters, including structuring business enterprises, preparing shareholder and joint venture agreements, and negotiating business acquisitions and dispositions and implementing corporate reorganizations.
He has an active real estate practice for both business and personal transactions. His expertise includes commercial leasing, commercial and residential lending, real estate development, and residential and commercial real estate purchase and sale transactions.
As an experienced wills and estates lawyer, Peter advises individuals on the full spectrum of estate, business succession, and tax planning strategies, including wills, representation agreements, and special purpose trusts.
Mike Nienhuis is Counsel practicing in the Commercial Real Estate, Corporate Law and Indigenous Law Practice Groups.
Mike has frequently advised clients, including First Nations, regarding transactions involving First Nations lands and other indigenous law matters, including the implementation of land codes and related law and policy development.
He has also represented clients in connection with a wide variety of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, financing and commercial leasing.
Mike works with numerous developers on projects throughout the province, including re-zonings, subdivisions, construction and related matters.
He has acted in connection with the development, acquisition, disposition and financing of numerous clean energy and other natural resource projects on Crown, First Nations and privately owned land. He has advised companies in the natural resources sector on a variety of commercial matters, including provincial land tenures.
