The Government of Canada, through Public Services and Procurement Canada (“PSPC”), has engaged the services of Bruce Reynolds and Sharon Vogel of Singleton Urquhart Reynolds Vogel LLP in order to conduct an expert review. They will be examining payment and dispute resolution practices on federal projects in Canada’s construction industry and will be preparing a package of recommendations to be considered by the Government to inform the development of an effective legislative solution for federal construction contracts (the “Federal Review”).
The Federal Review will proceed as follows:
- Our first phase began with the finalization of a complete stakeholder list, and the issuance of the information package (the “Information Package”) on February 21, 2018 which is available here
- The second phase includes a series of industry engagement sessions (the “Sessions”) scheduled across Canada. The planned dates for these Sessions are anticipated to occur between March 5 and March 30, 2018, as further described in the Information Package. If you have been identified as a stakeholder and would like to schedule a meeting, please contact us through the Secretary of the Federal Review, James Little at firstname.lastname@example.org
- The third phase of our process involves the preparation of a suite of recommendations delivered to PSPC, in the form of a report, by May 1, 2018.
