Delia is an Associate and member of our Construction and Infrastructure, Commercial Business Litigation and Public Policy groups.
As the former Chief of Staff to Ontario’s Attorney General, Delia oversaw the expert review of the Construction Lien Act, working closely with industry and stakeholders to reform Ontario’s construction laws culminating in the new Construction Act. Delia played an instrumental role in the development of Ontario’s response to the legalization of cannabis. She helped to develop the successful pilot program providing independent legal advice to survivors of sexual assault, and guided Ontario’s investments in the justice system in response to the Supreme Court of Canada’s decision in R. v. Jordan.
Prior to her role in government, Delia practiced law as an Assistant Crown Attorney in Hamilton and the Region of Peel appearing regularly in the Ontario Court of Justice and Superior Court of Justice. Her experience was diverse and included prosecuting Criminal Code of Canada offences such as: murder, aggravated assault, sexual assault, domestic violence, and impaired driving offences.
