Professional Background

Natanya Garcia is an Associate and a member of the Corporate Commercial Group and Real Estate Groups, specializing in technology law, at Singleton Urquhart Reynolds Vogel LLP. She completed her Master of Laws on International Comparative Law with a focus on digital technology where her masters thesis on anti-circumvention technology legislation was nominated for the Dean’s Award.

Natanya advises companies, including software companies, internet retail companies and service companies on a variety of technology based issues and specializes in drafting trademark licensing agreements, software licensing agreement, enterprise agreements and SAS agreements. She also has experience in the buying and selling of businesses. She assisted in the sale of a $70 million business and acted as a lead associate on an $18 million cross border share purchase transaction.

Natanya also works closely with landlords and tenants for the lease of commercial buildings and regional shopping centres throughout the lower mainland. She is experienced in drafting and reviewing master lease agreements for landlords and negotiating lease terms with anchor and non-anchor tenants. She has also acted for various tenants regarding negotiating commercial leases with their landlord.

Natanya also applies the estate planning knowledge she gained as a wills and estate consultant at a major financial institution when advising clients.
