From the inception of his practice, Scott has worked in the defense of insured liability claims, the defense of first party claims against insurers and as coverage counsel for both insurers and insureds. As defense counsel he has acted to defend claims under the direction of homeowners, CGL, E&O and D&O insurers in a variety of matters. His experience as defense counsel extends to construction disputes, claims of professional negligence against a variety of professionals, including insurance brokers and those involved in the construction industry, wrongful dismissal claims, oppression actions and other commercial matters. Scott also acts an umpire pursuant to the dispute resolution provisions of the Insurance Act.
As coverage counsel, Scott has brought and defended coverage actions concerning many forms of insurance, including CGL, E&O and D&O policies.
Scott is also a trained Arbitrator.
