Singleton Urquhart Reynolds Vogel LLP named Benchmark’s Construction Law Firm of the Year

Singleton Urquhart Reynolds Vogel LLP (Singleton Reynolds) is pleased to announce that it has been named Construction Law Firm of the Year for 2018 by Benchmark.

The firm was named in a category that included national and multinational legal industry leaders. Bruce Reynolds was also nominated as Construction Lawyer of the Year, a title he had the pleasure of receiving in 2017.

“We’ve built an incredible team and it’s so rewarding and gratifying to receive this recognition so quickly after launching our new platform,” said Managing Partner and founder John Singleton, Q.C., after accepting the award last night. “It means a lot to all of us to receive this national recognition from one of Canada’s leading ranking agencies.”

Singleton Reynolds is the combination of well-established Vancouver firm Singleton Urquhart LLP and senior construction and commercial litigation lawyers in the newly opened Toronto office, including Bruce Reynolds, Sharon Vogel and Peter Wardle. The new firm is handling some of the construction industry’s most complex cases and is at the forefront of developing public policy for the construction industry. The federal government announced late last month that it had retained Reynolds and Vogel to collaborate with industry partners in the review of federal prompt payment and adjudication in Canada.

“We are really just getting started,” said Vogel of the firm’s future. “We are building a new platform to deliver a specialized range of services focusing on the industries we serve, including the construction industry.”

Last year Reynolds and Vogel were named by Canadian Lawyer Magazine as two of the Top 25 Most Influential Lawyers in Canada, given their work in reforming Ontario’s Construction Lien Act. Singleton Reynolds is also home to 5 of the 10 top-ranked construction lawyers in Canada according to Who’s Who International, and members of the firm’s construction group are recognized by Lexpert Leading Lawyers, Chambers Canada, ALM 500 and Martindale Hubbell repeatedly and consistently. Reynolds was also recently recognized for Arbitration and ADR by Client Choice awards in the UK.
