A detailed review of the introduction of prompt payment and adjudication legislation in the Province of Ontario by Bruce Reynolds, Sharon Vogel and James Little is featured in this month’s issue of the International Construction Law Review Journal [2019] ICLR 73. In this paper, the authors describe the development of the Construction Act in Ontario, including a review of the legislative process, the key elements of the new legislation, and a comparison of Ontario’s model to security of payment legislation around the world.
