Cen Yang received her Juris Doctor from the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia in 2021.
During law school, Cen volunteered for the Law Students’ Legal Advice Program where she provided free legal services to low-income individuals. At the program’s Chinatown Clinic, she interviewed and advised clients on their legal issues in Mandarin Chinese. Additionally, Cen served as the Treasurer of Legal Education Outreach which aims to inspire high school students to pursue a legal education by presenting workshops at high schools across Greater Vancouver. She spent a summer working for UBC Sauder School of Business’ Real Estate Division where she developed course content and exam questions for British Columbia and Saskatchewan licensing courses, provided legal education support to students, and conducted legal research on various real estate topics. She also worked part-time as a Virtual Case Manager for an arbitration chamber where she facilitated and monitored virtual hearings.
In her spare time, Cen enjoys going on walks, cooking and exploring Vancouver’s food scene with her friends and family. She was born in China and moved to Canada with her family at age five. She is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
