Lindsay Hiemstra received her Juris Doctor from the Peter A. Allard School of Law in 2023. Lindsay previously spent a summer at Singleton Urquhart Reynolds Vogel LLP as a second-year summer student.
During her studies, Lindsay volunteered with the Law Students’ Legal Advice Program (LSLAP) as a student clinician and became a clinic head. She also completed a legal externship with the Rise Women’s Legal Centre, where she provided pro bono family law services to women in need. Lindsay also worked as a legal assistant at a boutique Vancouver civil litigation firm from 2018 to 2020, spending summer articles at the same boutique firm after her first year of law school. Lindsay received the Norton Rose Fulbright Prize in Succession during law school.
Before law school, Lindsay volunteered as a Research Assistant with the British Columbia Youth Forensic Psychiatric Services, assisting with research on the premise of British Columbia correctional facilities. She also volunteered as a court runner within the Downtown Community Court with the Elizabeth Fry Society, and volunteered in the front office of the Hastings-Sunrise Community Policing Centre. Lindsay holds an undergraduate degree with a major in criminology and minor in sociology from Simon Fraser University.
